Traveling is one the most beautiful feelings that exist in my life. Those traveling and enjoying on-the-road life are enjoying the privilege. Seems like some do not even know that traveling is a privilege of their life. Traveling involves huge cost, planning, booking and several activities. Yet, I consider that traveling is a real privilege. Do you have the similar mindset about traveling?

Why I consider travel as a Privilege and you should too (4)

It is notable that people spend their most of time traveling and exploring the world. I have that privilege in my life because of my parents. It is because they understand the true benefits of traveling and support me. Let’s talk about those facts demonstrating that, “A person traveling is a person privileged”.

1. Privilege: Traveling is not everyone’s cup of tea

Let’s face this fact. I love traveling. You love traveling. I am traveling. You are traveling. But, like you and me, not everyone can just pack the bag and travel the world. You can travel within a budget but it’s not completely free.

Though I agree that you can lower your costs when traveling but it cannot be completely free. It is fact that due to financial matters, family commitments, or several situations travel is not planned by every person.

Indeed, financial situation is the principal factors for deciding travel destinations. It can thwarts an individual person from quitting his job and pursue the dream of traveling the world.

Traveling is a privilege but it’s not just for wealthy people. It is not a good idea to overrate the cost involved in a trip or long term travel plans. With correct techniques and insight, travel can be made possible by tools like sharing economy. If you are traveling, then you are already enjoying that privilege.

2. Privilege: Not having any kind of disability that prevents you from traveling

I am not talking about physical or mental health issues. Disability, irrespective of whether physical or mental problem prevents a person impossible to travel. From safety point of view, women have to think twice to travel.

3. Privilege: Understand and speaking English language

When I started traveling, it came to my realization that how lucky I am. Always enjoys the comfort while traveling being a fluent English speaker. Majority of places I travel to, always have an English translation. If I go into a restaurant, menu has English translation. Street Sign, Airports announcements etc. are available in English language too. That is a privilege in my life.

4. Privilege: Not being a citizen of countries involved in terrorist activities

I agree with the privilege which a German and American passport holder enjoy. Few countries provide VISA free access in the country to selected passport holders. if you are not holding such passport, no worries, you can still travel to countries on visa and enjoy the privilege that comes from traveling.  Visa application only gets reject on basis of few grounds.

Countries involved in criminal and terrorist activities make it complicated for their citizens to travel as their visa application does not get processed by other countries. If you are not citizen of such countries with criminal involvements then you have the that privilege to travel like me.

5. Privilege: Not afraid of travel sickness

Motion sickness or travel sickness may occur in anyone. Some may call it sea sickness, car sickness, bus sickness. People facing this issue refuse to travel. If you are not having travel sickness, you can consider yourself privilege. If you have such symptoms like nausea, vomiting, dizziness but you are not afraid of this. You manage to travel, you are privileged again.

Consider yourself that you are privilege, when you:

  • Have means and ability to break down barriers while traveling around
  • Foster astounding diverse culture and custom during traveling
  • Freedom to go in any direction  your heart drives you
  • Experience the nature of several destination in all its glory
  • Above all, you have freedom to follow your wanderlust.

Why I consider travel as a Privilege and you should too

Do not forget that traveling is something that everyone should be experience. As a result, it opens your mind and makes your spirit feel lighter and stress free.

Not having money or passport does not have to get in the way you travel. I agree that passport and money both are major requirement to travel foreign countries. But, traveling is not about going to every single country. It depends on your goals and interest. India is a vast country with 29 states in it. Chances are you can set your goals to travel the country first.

I would recommend that everyone should travel. Travel is about learning. While you are on-the-road trip and learning, you should feel privilege. I travel my country on priority basis. When I feel, I plan my overseas travel. Traveling makes me feel privileged by the opportunities it provides me.

You can travel anywhere. Travel is about opening your eyes to new possibilities. It’s about experiencing the life in a different way. You can travel anywhere because traveling is about going out and experiencing the inexperienced.

However, my objective behind this post is not to discourage you. I am sharing this to inspire you that you can travel too. By planning a trip, make yourself privilege too. Plan a trip and set your wheels on fire. Start exploring today.
